Graffiti Removal Grant: Help for Hamilton Businesses

Did you know Hamilton offers a permanent grant program to help commercial and mixed-use property owners clean up graffiti?

If you’re a business owner in Barton Village, Downtown, or any of our city's designated commercial corridors, you could qualify for financial support for graffiti removal.

Key Details:

• The City of Hamilton’s Commercial District Revitalization Grant Program now permanently offers grants to cover removal costs for graffiti on eligible properties.

• Owners or tenants in commercial or mixed-use buildings can apply.

• The grant covers up to $200 per incident of graffiti removal, for a total of up to five incidents per property ($1,000 per calendar year).

• Properties must be located in designated corridors or BIAs. Check eligibility here

What You Need to Apply:

• Fill out the official application form.

• Provide a digital photo of the graffiti, including date and location, and documentation showing you own or rent the property (such as a lease or tax bill).

• After removal, submit a photo showing the cleaned area, dated and location-identified.

• No fee is required to apply for the graffiti portion of the grant.
